The Buddy I Knew

Well hello there!

I haven't blogged for quite a while now...who missed me!?

I'm spending some quality time with my nanna today and I had a parcel waiting for me when I got there; a DVD I ordered.

Sherry Holley sent me a copy of her dad's DVD, 'The Buddy I Knew'.

This is probably the first time I've mentioned it on my blog, but I'm a huge Buddy Holly fan. For those of you who haven't heard of Buddy Holly, I strongly suggest you search him on YouTube.

My dad was a Buddy fan. I get most of my musical taste from my dad, and Buddy was no exception.

If you are a fan yourself or want to learn more about the him, there are a lot of websites and books available, but you can also purchase Larry's DVD 'The Buddy I Knew'. It is available from his website; http://larryholley.com

You certainly won't be disappointed.

The Biggest Loser Season 8 Finale

I'm watching the Finale of season 8 right now and I felt that I needed to write a post about it.

Over the last few months this show has really inspired me to try even harder to lose weight. I've been on a diet for as long as I can remember but I always find a way to mess it up...this show has inspired me to do things I would have never dared try before. I've learnt that exercise is as crucial as the calorie intake so I make sure I do at least 30 minutes every day and if I have to take an extra 15 minutes to make a healthy dinner while my family choose a less healthy option, then  I will.

In the last month I’ve lost 15lbs, making my total loss 94lbs and although it was my hard work that made that happen, I couldn’t have done it without Biggest Loser Club.

Its inspirational to watch these people work their arses off at the gym for 6 hours a day. They’re normal people like you and I, they have families, they face struggles every day, but they know they need to change their lives and that is exactly what they do. Watching the final weigh in and seeing how much they’ve all lost and how different they look is just amazing. It just goes to show that it can be done and anybody can do it, you just have to take the first step.

My sister is really supportive of me, but something she always asks is “What will be enough? When will you be happy?”. I don’t really have an answer to that… I don’t have a ‘goal weight’ because I don’t think the guidelines for ‘healthy weight’ are very realistic, but I know that once I’m a healthy size and I’m comfortable with my body, I’ll be happy.

The one thing I do know is that I don’t want to end up like Tracey. As far as I’m concerned, she’s taken it way too far.

A huge congratulations to Danny Cahill though, not only did he win the $250,000 prize (and free surgery to remove his excess skin), but after losing 239lbs he is the shows Biggest Loser to date. Well done Danny.

Rose McGowan Appreciation Post!

I had the afternoon off today so I decided to be lazy and wrap myself up in a blanket on the sofa watching TV. Coming down with a cold is never good, but nothing a hoodie, soup and a blanket can't sort out.
Anyway, I was watching Charmed which brings back some memories, and my old girl crush on Rose McGowan seems to have reappeared. So, here are some photos. She has such a classic beauty and body shape...something Katy Perry-esque...Enjoy!

I love this dress, it's so cute!

This is probably my favourite picture of Rose at the moment.

Sunshine

"Stop wishing for the sunshine,
Start living in the rain."

Following my previous post about Kids In Glass Houses, I wanted to share this with you all.
I was introduced to this song when I first saw the band in May and it came at a time in my life when I really needed to hear it.
I hope it can mean as much to you as it means to me :)

Don't forget to follow the band on Twitter, become a fan on Facebook, or add them as a friend on Myspace.
You can pick up their album on Amazon.co.uk for £4.99!

Coming Soon...

An interview with the beautiful Gabriela Arciero of The Lunabelles.

Hi!

Hi, I’m Laura and this is my face. I’m 22, Christmas is my favourite and I have weird taste in everything. I love Disney Channel shows and have more girl crushes than boy crushes. I get really obsessed over things so easily and i’m in love with Twitter. I have a ridiculous sense of humour but I’m a loyal friend and i’ll do anything for anyone (within reason). I have good days and bad days, but I find comfort in music and baking. Cupcakes are my speciality <3. I want this blog to be about music, movies, fashion, quotes, inspirations, make up, photography and baking...all of my favourite things. I hope you like it!
